The keynote presentation, Protecting Wisconsin from the Cyber Threat, is presented by Byron Franz, Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Attendees have the opportunity to learn more about cybersecurity from Bryon’s presentation, as well as from a panel of local cybersecurity experts who will be discussing how to ensure your online data, business and family are safe and secure.

Byron Franz – Special Agent of the FBI

Byron Franz is a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and has worked national security matters for over 23 years.  He currently serves on FBI Milwaukee’s Cyber Squad, where one of his responsibilities is to raise awareness of cyber and insider threats to business, academia, and state/local governments.  He is FBI-certified to conduct cyber investigations and rated as proficient to work counterintelligence investigations by the U.S. Intelligence Community.  He holds a B.A. in Russian and a law degree, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jim Dobinski – Founder and Managing Director at Stellar Blue Technologies

Jim Dobinski is the Founder and Managing Director at Stellar Blue Technologies. Jim has been able to combine his passion for technology with his corporate management experience by creating a virtual company composed of multiple innovative divisions. Jim has taken the best of what he’s learned in corporate America and combined that experience with his interpersonal skills to cultivate a business climate which recognizes and encourages the creative process amongst each talented member of the diverse Stellar Blue team.

 

Matt Longmeyer – Information Technology Officer at Bank First

Matt Longmeyer is a skilled Information Technology Professional and serves as the Information Technology Officer at Bank First.  Over the past 8 years, he has provided oversight of technology operations, aided in the bank’s cybersecurity strategy, and led key information security initiatives throughout the organization.  Matt enjoys exploring new technology, spending time outdoors, and golfing.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Networking and Security as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Technology Management; both from UW-Whitewater.  Matt is also a graduate of the Bank Technology Management School from the Graduate School of Banking at the UW-Madison.

Michael Sewall – Investigator at the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office

Mike Sewall is an Internet Crimes against Children Investigator at the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and an FBI Task Force Officer. Over the past 6 years Mike has conducted undercover investigations targeting the online exploitation of children. This includes child enticement, human trafficking and the distribution, manufacture and possession of child sexual abuse material. Mike currently serve on the FBI’s Violent Crimes against Children Unit as a Task Force Officer where their mission is to combat the exploitation of children all over the world. This task force is currently involved in a large scale international operation into the manufacture and distribution of child exploitation material. As an investigator at the Sheriff’s Office Mike deals primarily with crimes against children but also work closely with general detectives working on cases that involve high technology. Mike is also one of three investigators at the Sheriff’s Office trained to utilize our forensic software to image electronics for evidence in all types of cases.
