As a member of the Oshkosh Community, and as the Director of the NEW Digital Alliance, joining the Amplify Consortium just makes sense. It allows our organizations to work more closely together to help grow the technology ecosystem in Northeast Wisconsin and partner on initiatives to prepare our communities for the digital future.
I joined Amplify Oshkosh because I have a passion for education and technology. We are constantly reminded of the role technology plays in our lives. I feel that it is important that all ages have access to the ability to use it and learn more about it. Working in technology, I have the privilege of helping businesses understand what they specifically need to be successful. It only seemed like a natural fit to be part of a diverse group of people helping each other and the community remain innovative through education and technology.
I am looking forward to becoming more involved with Amplify as they work to bridge the gap between education and IT in our local community. The world of Information Technology is constantly changing and adapting to the needs around us, and this organization provides a wonderful platform to share and create opportunity.
I became involved with Amplify because of their ongoing efforts to educate the community on the ever-growing ways technology is integrating into the business world and our personal lives. The partnership Amplify has also built the educational systems in the area to bring awareness to the opportunities available in the Oshkosh and surrounding communities is impressive and I enjoy the interactions with these various organizations and exploring ways that we can work together!
I am excited to be a part of Amplify – the initiative to grow and support information technology talent (IT) in the Oshkosh area community. I see Amplify as an excellent example of a group of dedicated professionals who are making a difference creating events and educational programming that develop the understating of the importance careers in IT make within our area.
Oshkosh is a great community of industry, charity and schools that has spawned many great technology companies. Through participating in Amplify Oshkosh, I hope to attract people to the area and into the field of technology by turning up the volume on the message of the vast opportunities and variety of work available here in the field of information technology.
When I learned that the Oshkosh area is destined to be a hub of technological innovation and was known to hold nearly ¼ of Wisconsin’s technology jobs, I knew we needed to get the word out and connect our region’s business, education, and community with a tech-forward mindset. I know that changing from a manufacturing, trades, and traditional education mindset and creating a community that behaves more like a technology startup will encounter some obstacles. I have a passion for technology, change, and human connection along with the knowledge and skills to advance change. Amplify is a great opportunity to bring Oshkosh leaders together to advance how we address change in our businesses, careers, education, and community.
I am involved with Amplify Oshkosh for the same reason I teach: I enjoy fostering excitement around working with information technology while doing so in an exciting city like Oshkosh, WI.
IT is a career path but it also includes the technology that is embedded in every occupation. Oshkosh is filled with amazing companies doing amazing things! As jobs and technology continue to evolve, we must all work together to ensure that we keep local skills current. It’s a true war on talent right now and that will continue to be true into the future . . . IT/technology is a key factor to help our region remain competitive!
I am passionate about innovation and using technology to enhance each person’s ability to contribute, making Amplify a natural fit. With my background in non-profit employee development, career readiness, and resume writing, along with community involvement, the Skills and Talent Committee is a fantastic opportunity to stay on top of what skills, knowledge and experiences innovative companies are looking for, as well as how students can develop the talent that will allow them to become a sought after recruit. Amplify gives me the opportunity to connect with Oshkosh area professionals and infuse creative leadership strategy into advancing how we address change in our businesses, careers, education, and community.
I am involved with Amplify Oshkosh to better understand the needs of the local industry regarding what is needed to satisfy the shortage of Information Technology workers. Amplify provides a unique venue where educators at every level can interact with industry and work towards a common goal of meeting the need for IT Skills.
